Health risk assessments (HRAs), which can help improve the health of a population by reducing health risks and cutting medical care costs, show potential to attract consumers online. In this article, the authors reveal their survey results showing consumers’ strong preference for Internet-based and direct mail HRAs over other options. Although the authors contend that the time has come for making HRAs available online and for linking them to other sites providing health care information, they warn that consumers are concerned about whether the personal information they give over the Internet is secure.
