DSS Health Care Engagement Index (HCEI) shows a minimal decrease for 2013 Q3
The DSS Health Care Engagement Index for Q3 2013 decreased minimally from 60.0 in Q2 2013 to 59.6 for the quarter ending September 30. This very small decrease is not statistically significant and continues the trend of little change that has characterized the index for the last few years. There is no reason to expect large changes from quarter to quarter or even over several quarters, but the lack of change over several years is disappointing and shows that various attempts to get people more engaged in their health care are not having broad impact nationally even though these efforts are impacting smaller populations. The results in all cases are based on representative samples of consumers nationally.
